March Wrap Up

Three months into the year already! This last month was busy for me.

First, at the beginning of the month, I entered a writing contest with Forest and Fawn. It was a “romantasy” short-story challenge. I had to write 2,000 words or less in a week the focus being a romance story with some elements of fantasy. They also provided extra prompts that we had to include, adding extra difficulty to the challenge. I was surprised with how well my story came together but keeping it under 2,000 words was more difficult than I first anticipated. I had to get creative with finding words to try to knock out whole sentences. I won’t hear anything back on how my story did until May or June, but my fingers are crossed that I did well!

I don’t know how, but I read 11 books this month! I know some people probably get more done, but this is a personal record for me. Some of the books were on Kindle Unlimited and a few I bought new that month, but I did manage to get a few books off my TBR (To Be Read) shelf and onto my “I’ve read this book” shelf. I have an embosser that stamps “Kali’s Library” and I use that as my reward for finishing a book. It’s a surprisingly great motivator. Read more books, stamp more books. I highly recommend it to any avid reader!

A fun little fact about me, I love dancing. I did classes growing up and instead of proms or homecomings, I went to contra line dancing balls. Recently my friend and I have started learning line dancing so we can host our own events instead of having to travel an hour or more. We’ve hosted two of them now and they have been a blast! I’m hoping we get a chance to do more as the year progresses.

Looking forward to another month of adventure!
